This brooch is hand made in the UK out of Pewter and has an Urnes style design depicting possible a dragon or horse with snakes intertwined around its limbs and body.
The Urnes style dates from 1050 to the 12th century and gets its name from a stave church in Urnes, Norway. Carved wooden panels reveal sinuous animals interlacing and looping, with long eyes pointed forward
The brooch is based on a find from Trollashogur, Iceland. The style of the design dates the original to the 11th Century, towards the end of the viking age and hand made in Scotland.
