Huginn & Munnin Comb
Combs are one of the oldest tools mankind knows. In medieval times they have not only been used for human hair but also to prepare wool and other natural fibres for spinning and felting.
This metal comb represents the two famous ravens Huginn and Munnin. The raven is a common iconic figure in Norse mythology. The highest god Odin had two ravens named Huginn and Muninn ("thought" and "memory" respectively) who flew around the world bringing back tidings to their master. Therefore, one of Odin's many names was the "ravengod" (Hrafnaguð).
