Every Viking needs their very own hand crafted drinking horn. Fill your horn, blessed with the Vegvisir symbol, to the brim with ale or mead, and drink yourself into Valhalla!

The Vegvisir (Icelandic Vegvísir, “That Which Shows the Way;” pronounced “VEGG-vee-seer”) is a symbol found only in one modern Icelandic collection of spells, the so-called Huld manuscript. That book has nothing more than this one sentence to say about it: “If this sign is carried, one will never lose one’s way in storms or bad weather, even when the way is not known.”

The Vegvisir is hand carved into the horn. The Vegvisir may or may not be blackened with ink depending on the lower layer of the horn. If you have a preference for a horn with or without a painted inside of the carving, just let me know. If you do not specify, it will remain at the artistic discretion of our horn carving shieldmaiden.

This is a natural hand crafted product and there will be variation in size, shape and colour. The images show just a small selection of the variation in horns.

Large drinking horn is typically between 700-899ml

Not suitable for dishwasher (To clean please use a sponge and dish soap)

Not suitable for sugary fizzy (coke, fanta, sprite etc.), spirits or hot drinks (heat can reshape the horn)

Horns are by-products of the meat industry. Our horns are salvaged from this so instead of going to waste, they are cleaned, reconditioned and turned into a beautiful vessel to start a new life. They're hand crafted of natural materials (ox or cow horn) so are likely to present some marks from the previous life or crafting process. None have a perfectly smooth finish by the very nature of the items. Each is handmade, beautiful and unique. All our horns are cleaned, sculpted and polished by our craftsman to a beautiful finish and are safe to drink from.
