925 Sterling Silver Dragon Arm Ring
There are three dragons primarily represented in Norse mythology, Nidhogg (or Nidhoggr), Jormungand (or Jormungandr), and Fafnir.
This detailed arm ring has dragon heads at each end, connected by an intricate band designed in a traditional Viking art style pattern. The dragon ends are heavily inspired by the Gotland Treasure discovered in the locality of Burg, on the isle of Gotland in Sweden dating back from the 10th century while the band is based on the Oseberg art style.
The Oseberg style lasted most of the 9th century and appears in some Viking religious iconography. Its main feature is the gripping beast motif and sinuous animal forms. Paws grip borders, the neck of the creature, other creatures or other parts of its body. The gripping beast must have echoed something in the culture of Viking art as it stood fast for a good 150 years.
It is made out of Sterling Silver using the ancient wax process, hand cast in Scotland and hand finished in our own workshop based in England. Comes Hallmarked. Each is unique due to the casting and hand finishing process.
This bracelet is adjustable and will fit wrists between 16 and 22cm, but bending it repeatedly can weaken the metal. It is recommended to only ever bend it once to adjust the fit
