This hair bead is made from solid Bronze, hand hast using the lost wax method in Scotland and hand finished in England. It features a rope design which wraps around the top and bottom of the bead also framing the Ehwaz runes.
The rune is repeated twice on the bead and sits atop an Urnes design making it a beautiful, highly-detailed piece to wear and admire.
The Elder Futhark runes are split into three aettir. Each is a subset of the runes that is associated with a different god.
The Ehwaz Rune Meaning directly corresponds to the idea of a horse. Comprised of two Laguz runes, the Ehwaz rune symbolically represents two horses facing each other. This is an allusion to the two horses that pull the chariot of the Sun in Norse Mythology. These horses are Árvakr and Alsviðr. Because of this, we can see why Ehwaz is in Tyr’s Aett. It can also be claimed that Ehwaz represents Sleipnir, Odin’s eight-legged horse.
Ehwaz also represents the life force that drives forward. It is characteristic of movement and represents the vehicle that leads to transcendence and growth. Ehwaz also represents a union or marriage of two polarized forces. It is a rune of partnerships, trust and working together.
