The Helm of Awe is a powerful protective symbol used by the Vikings for the purpose of protection from illness, and disease. In Norse mythology it is said that it is a symbol that was worn between the eyes that induces fear in your enemies, and to protect against the abuse of power.
The raven is a common iconic figure in Norse mythology. The highest god Odin had two ravens named Huginn and Muninn ("thought" and "memory" respectively) who flew around the world bringing back tidings to their master. Therefore, one of Odin's many names was the "raven god" (Hrafnaguð).
This heavy pendant is hand made in fine English Pewter in the UK with great attention to detail, the pendant itself being near life-size of a raven's skull on a real leather cord. Pendant is fastened with an adjustable pewter T-bar fastener. Designed and hand made in England in fine English pewter the cord length is adjustable. (Lead, cadmium & nickel compliant)
