Every Viking needs their very own hand crafted drinking horn. Fill your horn, blessed with the Helm of Awe symbol, to the brim with ale or mead, and drink yourself into Valhalla!
The Helm of Awe is a powerful protective symbol used by the Vikings for the purpose of protection from illness, and disease. In Norse mythology it is said that it is a symbol that was worn between the eyes that induces fear in your enemies, and to protect against the abuse of power.
The Helm of Awe is painstakingly hand carved out of the horn. The background around the symbol depends on the sub layers of the horn, no paint is involved. If you have a preference for a horn with or without a painted inside of the carving, just let me know. If you do not specify, it will remain at the artistic discretion of our horn carving shieldmaiden.
This is a natural hand crafted product and there will be variation in size, shape and colour. The images show just a small selection of the variation in horns.

Horns are by-products of the meat industry. Our horns are salvaged from this so instead of going to waste, they are cleaned, reconditioned and turned into a beautiful vessel to start a new life. They're hand crafted of natural materials (ox or cow horn) so are likely to present some marks from the previous life or crafting process. None have a perfectly smooth finish by the very nature of the items. Each is handmade, beautiful and unique. All our horns are cleaned, sculpted and polished by our craftsman to a beautiful finish and are safe to drink from.
