Jorvik Tent (3 x 5 m)
PRE-ORDER ONLY.
This compact-sized Saxon tent is modeled on historical examples and offers ample space for 2 to 3 occupants with their respective gear. Only 2 people are required to pitch it swiftly in just a few simple steps. The longer poles are sectional, allowing for easy storage and transport of the medieval tent. With an inner height of approx. 2.50 m, it even allows stately sized Vikings to stand upright. The approx. 2.10 m high sewed-on awning offers good sun and rain protection. The door can be easily rolled open on either side and tied with a bow to each side of the tent wall. It closes with eyelets and loops. The entrance is approx. 2.00 m high. The bottom edge closes with a sod cloth that flaps into the inside and keeps wind gusts, dirt and dust out.
The historical Saxon tent is treated against mildew and mould. The 340 g/m2 thick pure cotton canvas is robust and tear-resistant but still very affordably priced, making this medieval tent an indispensable piece of equipment for medieval markets, military camps or LARP events.
Our tents and tarpaulins have already been waterproofed. In order to maintain / restore the water repellency of your tent or tarp and enjoy its use for a long time, we recommend regular treatment with a waterproofing spray, for example PLUVONIN.
Delivery includes all accessories needed for the proper setting up and fastening of the tent. Does not include tent pegs.

All measurements are approximate and may differ from the actual product supplied. The tents are crafted by hand, which lends them an authentic appearance on the one hand, but may also result in one or two small defects on the other hand. Cotton is a natural material that reacts differently depending on the various outside conditions and can considerably shrink or expand. So the iron poles included in delivery may not fit straightaway into the designated holes. It might in certain cases be necessary to somewhat shorten the poles to size. Please do not try to stretch the tent skin by force, as it increases the risk of the canvas tearing or the stitches snapping.
Important information on assembly, handling and maintenance of our historical tents:
You can prolong the life of your Viking tent and enjoy its use for a long time by observing the following precautions:
Do not overstretch the ropes, for natural materials such as wood or cotton alter under the influence of air humidity and need space to contract and expand. You may thus avoid e.g. that the roof holes for the poles get distended and ultimately facilitate water ingress. We recommend slightly slackening the ropes in the evening, for air humidity considerably rises at night and may increase the risk of excessive stress exerted on your tent. The ropes should also be somewhat slackened in rain or high atmospheric humidity. If the tent has been exposed to humidity, we strongly advise you to dry it after use, as it is otherwise likely to mould. Do not, on any account, use detergents or any other cleaning products to clean your tent. The best way to remove dried out dirt is to use a brush. As for the storage of your tent over an extended period of time, please separate all accessories (pegs, ropes, etc.) from the tent itself and preferably pack everything separately. Make sure that all items are dry and stored in a dry place.
