Pair of Tortoise Brooches

A true Viking gem, meticulously crafted with great attention to detail and available in  English Pewter.

On the reverse, this oval Viking Age cloak brooch features a sturdy pin and a pin lug for proper fastening to your garment.

Oval brooches or fibulae, also called tortoise brooches, belonged to the Viking women's attire and were worn in pairs to fasten the shoulder straps of their apron or overdress.

This paid is based on a find from Lisbjerg, Denmark and are made using a process similar to the one the Vikings would have used when making the originals. These brooches are highly detailed with beats motifs.
