Hand carved to showcase a Skåne inspired Thor's Hammer, this horn ranges from white to a deep brown colour and features a knotwork band at the top and ends in a carved tip. The hear of the Hammer is a Triquetra symbol.
One of the best known items from the Viking Age is the Thor's Hammer (Mjölnir in Old Norse). The Thor's Hammer was worn by pagans who followed the Norse Gods and in particular, Thor. The Thor's Hammer was a magical weapon carried by the God and made by dwarves. It had many powers and the image of the hammer was usually worn by Heathens, one of the most famous and instantly recognisable Hammers is the archaeological example from Skåne in Sweden.
The triquetra is a Norse Viking symbol closely connected with the Valknut and Horn Triskelion. Artifacts with Triquetra ornaments are found in all parts of the Viking world, ranging from the comb found in Gnezdovo (near Suzdal, Russia) to the saddle bow from Coppergate (York, England).
The Trinity knot is symbolic of the threefold nature of the Goddess as mother, maiden and crone. The mother as a goddess is representative of creation, the maiden is representative of innocence and the crone is representative of wisdom. It is also representative of the forces of nature (earth, fire and water) and the three interlocking circles are symbolic of female fertility.

Horns are by-products of the meat industry. Our horns are salvaged from this so instead of going to waste, they are cleaned, reconditioned and turned into a beautiful vessel to start a new life. They're hand crafted of natural materials (ox or cow horn) so are likely to present some marks from the previous life or crafting process. None have a perfectly smooth finish by the very nature of the items which adds to their rustic charm. Each is handmade, beautiful and unique. All our horns are cleaned, sculpted and polished by our craftsman to a beautiful finish and are safe to drink from.
Please note, due to reflections, the horn appears to be lighter in the images than in real life.
