This is a solid wall hanging made from Soar-wood and crafted using traditional carving techniques. It depicts the Valknut symbol and the two ravens belonging to the god Odin. The two ravens named Huginn and Muninn ("thought" and "memory" respectively) flew around the world bringing back tidings to their master.
The Valknut is a mysterious symbol consisting of three interlocked triangles, and is thought to be strongly tied to Odin. The name comes from Old Norse for "Knot" and "Slain Warrior", loosely meaning the "knot of those fallen in battle". It is thought that the Valknut was displayed at the burial sights of those who died in battle as a sign that they were to be taken to Valhalla.
The wall hanging has been hand carved from Soar wood from a suistainable source and the two ravens have been painted black.
